PETALING JAYA:
Saiful Bukhari Azlan, a former aide to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, officially joined PPBM yesterday.

Saiful, who in 2008 accused Anwar of sodomising him resulting in the Port Dickson MP being jailed in 2015, said he is now a PPBM member in the Bentong division in Pahang.

“After 12 years in the country’s political arena without joining any party, it was time for me to choose a political platform and become an official member. Not to fulfil my personal agenda, but to continue fighting for my race, religion and country.

“I want to express my appreciation to PPBM for accepting and approving my membership. As a member, I will give my loyalty to the party and leadership,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Saiful previously joined five other candidates in contesting against Anwar in the 2018 Port Dickson by-election, which the PKR president won by a 23,560-vote majority.
