Mohd Hamdi is new vice-chancellor of UM

A former vice-chancellor of UKM, he takes over from Abdul Rahim Hashim.

Prof Dr Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor has been appointed the new vice-chancellor of Universiti Malaya on a three-year contract from Nov 1.

Mohd Hamdi, 49, takes over from Abdul Rahim Hashim whose contract expires tomorrow.

Prior to his appointment, Mohd Hamdi  served as deputy vice-chancellor of UM and as vice-chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for almost two years.
