Cops detain 2 men over charred remains in car found in Sepang

Police are waiting for the DNA results to ascertain the identity of the dead man, believed to be a contractor.

Police have remanded two men for a week for investigations into the discovery of the charred remains of a man in a car near a jungle on the outskirts of Sepang on Wednesday.

Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said the two men, aged 37 and 42, were a friend and an employee of the deceased.

“We are awaiting for the DNA results to ascertain the identity of the person found in the car,” he said in a brief statement, adding the deceased was believed to be a contractor.

On Oct 28, police received an emergency call at 3.30am about a Toyota Harrier SUV “exploding” near Jalan Airport City 2, Airport City Business Centre in Sepang.

The man’s charred remains were found in the front seat of the vehicle.
