PETALING JAYA: Hishammuddin Hussein has been appointed as Barisan Nasional’s (BN) treasurer, taking over from Tengku Adnan Mansor.
BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this was to strengthen the coalition’s organisational structure, adding that Tengku Adnan would remain as Umno’s treasurer.
Zahid said this decision had been discussed with the presidents of other BN component parties.
“BN thanks Tengku Adnan for his services as the treasurer of BN.
“We also congratulate Hishammuddin. We hope he can fulfil the responsibility entrusted to him,” he said in a statement today.
