PBS secretary-general Jahid Jahim said the partnership was also aimed at creating political collaboration, especially in view of the Sabah state election.
However, he said it did not make PBS a member of PN, but rather a partner in the political collaboration and in the federal government.
“The case is exactly the same as Gabungan Parti Sarawak. They are a partner in PN,” he said in a statement here today.
The agreement was signed by Jahid and PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin in a ceremony in Tamparuli yesterday, witnessed by senior leaders.
Under the agreement, Jahid said, PBS would be a partner of PN in the Sabah state election.
“This is the beauty about PBS’ position – we are on our own, fully autonomous, not dictated by any party and yet part of the bigger family of PN, to jointly develop and make Malaysia greater.”
