Azmin working with Muhyiddin ‘to save Malaysia’, says Afif

The former PKR leader says it is a 'sacrifice' to move the nation forward.

Dr Afif Bahardin says Azmin Ali’s decision to join forces with Muhyiddin Yassin was not an easy one.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali’s move to join forces with Muhyiddin Yassin and Perikatan Nasional (PN) was intended to save the country, the Kongres Negara 2020 was told today.

Former PKR leader Dr Afif Bahardin, who now heads the Pemuda Negara NGO, described Azmin’s actions as a “sacrifice” to move the nation forward.

Afif, the Seberang Jaya assemblyman, quit PKR in June to join PPBM. He had been suspended by PKR two months earlier pending an investigation by its disciplinary board.

“The sacrifice to join forces with Muhyiddin was not an easy decision. (Likewise), the decision to join forces with PN was not an easy decision,” he said, adding that what mattered were the future of the country and the survival of the people.

The theme of the congress is “Bersatu Untuk Malaysia”.

Meanwhile, former PKR Wanita chief Haniza Talha said the PN government was not formed as a result of power struggles but to provide leadership to a country facing a crisis.
