Shamsul said it was important for every member to remember that the challenges members faced paled in comparison with that faced by Anwar during the party’s formative years.
“Therefore, let’s not forget the one who has sacrificed his own freedom and peace, and that of his family’s, to ensure a fair future for everyone,” he said in a statement.
Shamsul said the victory of the party, as part of the Pakatan Harapan coalition, in the 14th general election was one of the major successes attained in its long struggle.
“We can say confidently that our struggle, which began two decades ago, was not an easy one.
“But PKR’s victory in GE14 was not an absolute one. Our agenda is bigger and continuous to ensure our country is fairer and the people are better taken care of,” he added.
