PETALING JAYA:
Police have nabbed an unemployed woman allegedly involved in the hit-and-run that left three injured in Sunday’s Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2019.

Selangor Traffic Enforcement and Investigations Department chief Azman Shariat said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Kepong on Sunday night.

During the arrest, police also discovered six foils of Eramin 5 pills in her possession.

Her Honda City car was also seized.

“The suspect also tested positive for drugs,” Azman said, adding that she had no prior criminal records.

Three runners, including an aide to a former minister, suffered injuries after a car was said to have ploughed through safety barriers set up on the Middle Ring Road.

The KL Marathon is an annual event that has been held since 1989. More than 30,000 people took part in this year’s event, together with about 1,900 running tourists from 73 countries.
