Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin said they are still investigating the shootout which has stirred controversy over conflicting versions of the incident.
“I would like to appeal to the media to publish her picture, and to those with information on her to come forward,” he said in a press conference here.
The woman, Moganambal Govindasamy, was the wife of Sri Lankan national Janarthanan Vijayaratnam who was killed alongside Maghendran Santhirasegaran and Janarthanan’s brother-in-law Thavaselvan.
Police denied that she was present during the shootout on Sept 14 but her family maintained otherwise, claiming that she has since gone missing.
Earlier this week, it was reported that a CCTV recording of Moganambal in a lift with the three men just hours before the shootout had emerged.
The lawyer for her family, P Uthayakumar, said the recording was proof that she had been with the three men despite the police’s assertions.
The clip shows a woman leaving an elevator at The Henge condominium in Kepong, at 10.33pm on Sept 13, accompanied by Janarthanan and the two other men.
Police claimed the three men refused to stop when they were ordered to pull over at Bandar Country Homes in Rawang, sparking a 7km chase which ended in Batu Arang.
They also said Thavaselvan and Maghendran were wanted for gang-related crimes.
Noor Azam today said he did not know who the men in the CCTV recording were, but urged those with information on the matter to step forward.
“We, too, would like to know,” he said.
