KUCHING:
Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg today revealed that Assistant Transport Minister Jerip Susil, who was formerly with Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), has applied to join Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

However, Abang Johari said Susil’s application is still under consideration.

“I will let you know (if Susil has been accepted by GPS),” he told reporters in a press conference here today.

He declined to answer when asked which component party Susil had applied to.

Susil, who was the deputy president of PSB, has reportedly been an independent since leaving the party July.

The Mambong assemblyman said he was convinced that only GPS under the leadership of Abang Johari could bring development and progress to rural constituencies in the state.

He was appointed as Sarawak’s assistant transport minister in the state Cabinet reshuffle announced yesterday.
