He said another report will be made to the education ministry on the involvement of a teacher in defaming a state exco member with the aim of creating instability within the state government.
“I once again deny all the allegations and the malicious slander thrown at me since a police report went viral yesterday.
“I am an elected representative for the third time. My salary and allowances as assemblyman and exco are enough.
“In 2009, I had rejected bribes worth tens of millions of ringgit to jump party. So it is ridiculous I would receive money now,” he said in a statement after lodging a police report today.
On July 13, Parit Buntar PKR committee member Beh Yong Kean had lodged a police report in Ipoh.
Beh had alleged that a Perak executive council member had tried to solicit commission from two companies trying to purchase land in the Kerian district in Perak.
Beh had claimed that the exco member agreed to support the two companies’ application to get land last year and had leaked the minutes of a state executive council meeting that were meant to be kept secret.
However, Yunus said he and his staff at his community service centre meet regularly every week or month, and various documents and government papers are discussed to resolve complaints and problems faced by the rakyat.
Furthermore, the Kuala Kurau assemblyman claimed Beh has ties with an illegal factory in Tanjung Piandang, which is in the midst of action by several agencies.
“I am convinced he (Beh) has a motive because I did not support the approval of several land applications requested by him since last year,” he said.
Yesterday, Yunus had said the allegation was an attempt to destroy his political career.
He said that the allegation had surfaced at a time when PKR was conducting its party elections.
He claimed that it was because he was backing the party’s deputy president, Mohamed Azmin Ali.
FMT is awaiting a further response from Beh.
