In a statement to FMT, the company also denied allegations that it had billed the government more than double the actual cost.
Warisan Pinang Sdn Bhd said it won the bid for the land swap deal through an open tender after complying with all requirements stipulated by the government.
“The terms and conditions of the agreement between the company and the government were fulfilled,” it added.
The company was responding to remarks by a PKR leader who questioned the deal and called for a probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
It also said the amount of RM40 million stated as the cost of building the Bukit Gedung integrated army complex (IAC) was “completely inaccurate and false”.
“In actual fact, Warisan Pinang incurred costs in excess of the RM82 million contracted to complete the entire IAC,” the company told FMT.
It said Warisan Pinang had appointed several subcontractors to undertake building works.
It also questioned a claim by PKR women’s wing information chief Carolyn Khor that the Bukit Gedung project cost only RM16 million but was reported to the defence ministry as being built at a cost of RM40 million.
“The amount of RM16 million alleged to be the cost of the Bukit Gedung military barracks represents only one of several contracts awarded for the construction of the Bukit Gedung and Sungai Ara IAC,” said Warisan Pinang.
It said the first phase and part of the second phase of the IAC were completed in July 2005 within the time period approved by the defence ministry.
“The remainder of the second phase was completed in March 2015, also within the time frame approved by Mindef.
“The IAC was fully completed to the satisfaction of Mindef and has already been in use for several years now.”
