“I like the big one. Yes, Thanos,” he said, when asked whether he was referring to Thanos.
Mahathir was speaking to reporters after launching the “Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes” exhibition at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur here today.
Thanos is one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. The character has appeared in the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame movies.
When asked how the exhibition could help spur tourism in Malaysia, Mahathir said he believed many would come to see this “extraordinary exhibition”.
“Usually, people only see these characters on screen. Now they can see it in 3D. In real life,” he said.
The prime minister marvelled at how technology has advanced, enabling characters to be created with such ease.
“In the past, to produce a cartoon, you needed to draw with your hands. Now you don’t have to. Now we use animation,” he said.

The exhibition is being held for the first time in Malaysia.
The exhibition, which was held in Singapore last year, features original and movie-accurate artifacts from the MCU over the last 10 years, including props, costumes, and concept art from Iron Man all the way to Avengers: Endgame.
Fans can also immerse themselves in interactive installations chronicling their favourite superheroes’ journeys, such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel.
The exhibition will be run from June 28 to Oct 27 at Level 10 of Pavilion Elite, Kuala Lumpur.
