BUKIT MERTAJAM: Former Penanti state assemblyman Ahmad Saad died at a private hospital here early today from old age.
Permatang Pauh Umno division head Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said said the late Ahmad, 68, who was former Penang Umno Youth head, died at 2.15am today.
“His remains will be brought to his home in Jalan Baru here and funeral rites will be performed at the Jalan Baru Mosque before burial at 10am at the Kampung Tok Panjang Muslim Cemetery,” he said here today.
Ahmad was Penanti state assemblyman from 1991 until 1995, and Permatang Pasir state assemblyman from 1995 to 1999.
