KUALA LUMPUR:
Deputy Home Minister Mohd Azis Jamman today said it is up to the police to take action against Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim if any reports are lodged.

“I am not a lawyer. But the reality is that, if there are police reports made, I leave it to the wisdom of the police to evaluate,” he told the Dewan Rakyat.

He was responding to Ismail Mohamed Said (BN-Kuala Krau), who had asked if the government was ready to act against Tunku Ismail.

The former deputy speaker also asked if the words uttered by the crown prince against Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the government over the past few weeks could be deemed seditious.

He raised concerns that the ongoing spat between Mahathir and the Johor palace could jeopardise the country’s political stability, as well as the credibility of the government.
