
The application was done in front of a magistrate at the Dang Wangi police station today.
“After debating for half an hour, the magistrate agreed to dismiss the police’s application to hold Jufazli for four days,” said his lawyer Syed Amirul Syed Idrus.
Jufazli, who is also represented by lawyers M Visvanathan and Rajsurian Pillai, will now be remanded for a day beginning today.
On March 16, the former DAP member was arrested and remanded five days for investigations under Section 504 of the Penal Code, based on a police report accusing him of insulting the prime minister.
Minutes after his release yesterday, he was arrested again, this time under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, related to a 58-minute livestream he made on his Facebook.
