Jufazli Shi Ahmad, 31, is said to have uploaded a 20-minute video titled “Hakim Kes 1MDB diugut oleh Najib Razak dalam Mahkamah Malaysia!?!?” in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on Jan 22.
The video was seen the following day at a location in Cyberjaya.
The Sabahan, who now lives in Cheras, is said to have improperly used network facilities under Section 233 (1) (a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA).
Those found guilty could be fined up to RM50,000 or sentenced to a maximum one-year jail term, or both.
Sessions judge Noorhisham Mohd Jaafar allowed a RM10,000 bail in one surety.
Deputy public prosecutor Aiza Ali Raman had earlier urged the court to impose a RM15,000 bail as the case was widely reported in the media.
However, lawyer M Visvanathan said that was not a consideration when imposing bail. He suggested RM3,000.
Visvanathan, who was assisted by V Sanjay, also brought to the attention of the judge that the charge was defective as it did not state who was the complainant in the case.
He also said he would be making a formal application to have the case transferred to Kuala Lumpur as the alleged offence took place in that territory.
“He should not be charged in Sepang which comes under Selangor,” he said, adding that it was not in accordance with the Subordinate Courts Act 1948 and the Criminal Procedure Code.
Noorhisham then fixed mention on July 29.
Meanwhile, Jufazli was freed after his brother Mohammad Safie posted bail.
