SINGAPORE:
Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan has been appointed as acting transport minister in Singapore-Malaysia bilateral negotiations, according to the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

This comes after Khaw Boon Wan, the coordinating minister for infrastructure and minister for transport, extended his medical leave due to an injury in his left arm.

“This ensures that the ongoing discussions with Malaysia on several transport matters will continue to be well coordinated,” the PMO said on its website today.

Senior Minister of State Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State Janil Puthucheary and Senior Parliamentary Secretary Baey Yam Keng will assist Vivian on transport matters and in the Committee of Supply debate, it added.
