In her letter of demand sent today by legal firm SN Nair and Partners, Kok alleged that Syarhan Humaizi Halim had made defamatory remarks against her on Facebook and on an online website between Jan 12 and 19.
She alleged that Syarhan claimed she did not agree to Islam as the religion of the federation and that she made this “anti-Islam” statement during a court hearing over the allocation of religious funds to Muslims in Selangor.
Kok said the statements were defamatory and painted her as a racist and anti-Islam.
She also said the statements were malicious and aimed at lowering her esteem in the eyes of the public.
Kok demanded that Syarhan retract his statements and publish an apology in newspapers or media or her choice.
She also sought damages of RM30 million.
Syarhan has seven days to reply or face court action.
