Its chairman, Rashid Din, who attributed the missing votes to a technical glitch, said he will raise the matter up with PKR’s leadership.
“There are votes that went missing in the cloud,” he told FMT, referring to a service model in which data is maintained, managed and backed up remotely.
“We are still trying to detect the votes and if we can’t find them, then we will propose fresh elections.
“But it is up to the PKR leadership to decide.”
Rashid’s comments come hours after he acknowledged that a technical glitch had delayed the party from posting the official results of the PKR polls in the two states.
The results were supposed to be announced on the same night.
He said this after Rafizi Ramli, who is vying for the deputy president’s post, claimed he had won in both states.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua has since called for an audit to be carried out for its Melaka and Negeri Sembilan party elections as “the results could be doubtful”.
Earlier today, Rashid denied a news report claiming that Melaka PKR may have to hold fresh elections due to “glitches” in the party’s e-voting system.
