Abdullah Sani said he would not stay quiet if there were those who wanted to sabotage the PKR president-elect and would instead reprimand them.
“I don’t care who they are, even if they are people that I admire.
“I may come off as aggressive, but I will do it for the ‘rakyat’ and so that the truth will prevail,” he said at the Eco Park community centre in Pantai Dalam here.
The Kapar MP’s comment comes a day after former finance minister Daim Zainuddin joined Anwar’s campaign trail in Port Dickson.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to also campaign for his former nemesis tomorrow.
Abdullah said the support given by Daim and Mahathir was a positive development and he believed they were sincere.
On Friday, Mahathir said he would go to Port Dickson to campaign for Anwar to dispel rumours of a falling-out with the PKR leader.
In August, Abdullah claimed there were elements attempting to stop Anwar from becoming the next prime minister, and named Daim as among those out to stop the PKR leader.
The remarks drew condemnation from PPBM leaders. Abdullah has since apologised.
Last month, he repeated a similar allegation, saying that Isa Samad’s candidacy in the Port Dickson by-election was part of a conspiracy to bring down the PKR leader.
Abdullah also said the “conspiracy” to stop Anwar this time is by the same players 20 years ago when Anwar was sacked from the Cabinet and jailed.
