KUALA LUMPUR:
Police today confirmed receiving a report on a man caught taking an upskirt video of an optician with his handphone.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said the case was being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.

“The police wish to advise the public to not viral the video because the case is still under investigation,” he said in a statement today.

Mazlan also said those with information that could assist the police investigation should contact senior investigating officer ASP Azrizal Khairul Abd Kadir at 019-2769117 or call the Sentul police station at 03-4048 2233.

Yesterday, Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman was reported to have sacked an aide for his insulting behaviour at an optical shop.

Azis was reported to have said that he decided to fire the officer with immediate effect because his actions had damaged his image and credibility as deputy home minister.

A CCTV recording of more than one minute of the aide making an underskirt video recording of the optician went viral on social media.
