Lecturer at the Azman Hashim International Business School, Associate Professor Dr L Nanthakumar said the diversified transportation access was one of the vital facilities for development, not only in the state, but also the country.

“Look at our neighbour Singapore. The development they have achieved so far is because of their diversified transportation access which should be emulated by Johor.

“Johor is the only state in Malaysia which has access to two bridges (which connect Singapore to Malaysia).

“If the HSR project materialises, it will definitely bring in more investors to Johor and Malaysia,” he said when contacted here today.

Nanthakumar said this in response to reports that Singapore had agreed to postpone the HSR project until May 31, 2020.

He added the construction of the HSR would also give access to investors to formulate a more sustainable and higher-impact investment strategy which would bring about more benefits to the people.
