
“I believe that based on the qualifications, experience and knowledge possessed by Prof Dr Ahmad Bashawir, he can shoulder this responsibility effectively and bring UUM to greater heights,” he said.
Maszlee also expressed his appreciation to Mustafa for his services during his term as VC from June 2010.
Bashawir, who is the assistant vice-chancellor of UUM’s College of Law, Government and International Studies, holds a degree in Finance from Ottawa University, a Master’s in Financial Management from the University of Hull and a PhD in Commerce from Murdoch University.
He has held positions such as dean of Graduate School, deputy dean in UUM and visiting professor at Universitas Bakrie, Jakarta, for a year.
