
“This was not discussed in the Cabinet, this is primarily their decision to resign,” he told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today.
“It is their decision, that they want to leave, it is now up to the prime minister to decide on the next leadership,” he said.
All nine directors of Khazanah resigned on Tuesday, and said the Pakatan Harapan government under Dr Mahathir Mohamad should decide the new leadership of the fund.
The decision comes weeks after the prime minister criticised Khazanah for deviating from its initial purpose of helping Bumiputeras.
Meanwhile, Lim called for an investigation into a letter by an officer of Najib Razak, allegedly seeking the support of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the days leading to the May 9 polls.
“It was written by an officer to seek for help. Is it allowed to write a letter like that? And who ordered her to write the letter?” he asked.
A letter to CIA director Gina Haspel, written on behalf of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organization (MEIO) and signed by Hasanah Ab Hamid, had urged the US to support Najib even if the BN managed to win by a single seat in the last elections.
Najib has distanced himself from the letter, saying he had not given any instruction to issue it.
