Media speculation said Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming was out of Cabinet contention.
PETALING JAYA:
With only days to go before additional members of the Cabinet are announced, more names have been raised in public speculation about potential ministers.

Perak DAP’s controversial chairman, Nga Kor Ming, called for patience today after speculation arose that he was being sidelined. Nga said the public should not believe claims that his name was not selected, according to a media report.

“I think the Prime Minister will make an official announcement (on the additional Cabinet list) next week. It’s better to wait for the announcement and respect his decision,” Nga was quoted as saying. “This kind of speculation is definitely not good for the government and also the Prime Minister’s Office.”

High-level political sources said party negotiations were still continuing within the Pakatan Harapan leadership about filling about 12 more portfolios, and the situation remained fluid.

Names raised in media speculation have included those of young politicians such as Yeo Bee Yin, 35, of DAP and Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, 25, of PPBM.

PKR politicians who could be included are Saifuddin Abdullah, Xavier Jayakumar, R Sivarasa, and Kamaruddin Jaafar, while five from Amanah might be included, with Mujahid Yusof Rawa and Khalid Samad speculated to be among them.

Others believed to be strong possibilities are Teresa Kok and Chong Chieng Jen of DAP, and Warisan Sabah’s Darell Leiking and Azis Jamman.
