The top cop said three police reports had been lodged against the former New Straits Times Press chief editor, including in Selangor and Kelantan.
“An investigation paper has been opened. Once it is completed, we will hand it over to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” Fuzi told reporters after an event today.
Yesterday, Kadir claimed that RM257 million was spent for the upkeep and personal expenditure of Sultan Muhammad V in the 16 months since he became the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
In his blog post, Kadir said the amount, averaging RM16 million a month, was spent on the Agong’s accommodation, residence, personal items, aircraft, transportation, clothing, gifts and souvenirs, overseas visits and salaries of palace staff, among others.
He also said the amount spent on the upkeep of the monarch showed that the Malay Rulers needed no reassurance that their position was secure.
His post earned him criticism from PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who hit out at him last night saying respect and decorum must be maintained.
“To make disparaging remarks without giving the Rulers the opportunity to clarify – that’s not healthy, especially when you use your position, and are seen to be close to people in the government,” Anwar had said.
