PETALING JAYA: Several Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders have also complained of mystery calls from abroad, hours after Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders accused the ruling coalition of employing a strategy to jam phone lines on polling day.BN strategist Eric See-To said he too has been receiving calls from unknown numbers since this morning.
Other BN leaders who got such calls include Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin and Simpang Renggam incumbent Liang Teck Meng.
“My phone seems to be under some sort of spam attack this morning. Strange,” Khairy tweeted today, accompanied by a screenshot showing United States phone numbers on his mobile phone’s missed calls list.
“I have been receiving disturbing missed calls from USA and Europe to my handphone since morning 9am till now, non stop and it is still going on,” said Liang.
Earlier today, several PH leaders accused BN of trying to jam their phone lines.
“They must think we are idiots like them,” said PPBM deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir.
PKR’s Tian Chua said it was a tactic by “Umno/BN black op strategists”, while DAP’s Lim Kit Siang said phone lines of key party leaders were “sabotaged and disabled by endless incoming calls”.
FMT has been trying to get the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission for a response.
