MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki said they viewed seriously the incident.

The officer received the live bullet together with a warning note.

It was found in the letterbox of his house yesterday.

Azam said a police report had been lodged on the matter.

“MACC urges the police to investigate the case and identify the culprit so that appropriate action can be taken, as provided for by the law,” he said in a statement today.

Azam said MACC believed the threat was made following several high-profile investigations it had carried out recently.

“It needs to be stressed that MACC members will never bow to such intimidation and will continue to perform their duties as entrusted without any hesitation,” he said.

In November last year, MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad had said there were several high-profile cases under investigation that were pending approval from the Attorney-General’s Chambers for prosecution in court.
