DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke said the EC’s excuse was that PH was not registered.
“We want to put up pictures of our leader. It is not their (EC’s) business,” he said at a news conference after a PH presidential council meeting.
PH comprises PKR, DAP, Amanah and PPBM.
Loke, who is also the MP for Seremban, said the coalition was also unhappy with the EC’s decision to count ballots for parliamentary and state seats concurrently at the same counting centre.
“This may confuse the counting agents as it will be carried out at the same place in a small room,” he said.
Mahathir, who is the PH chairman, also expressed unhappiness over postal votes.
He said the number of postal votes that would be sent to a constituency was not made known in advance.
On March 30, Penang Institute political studies programme fellow Toh Kin Woon said postal voters could have a big impact in GE14.
With an estimated 400,000 postal voters in marginal seats around the country, Toh said BN could virtually be guaranteed to win them.
Mahathir also asked enforcement authorities to be fair in dealing with party flags put up along roads nationwide.
“Nothing is done to the BN flags put up but opposition party flags are taken down. If you want to take them down, then take down all.”
Party flags are usually allowed to be put up after Parliament is dissolved.
PH has applied to register as a formal coalition so that it could contest under a single logo but, so far, its application has not been approved by the Registrar of Societies.
The High Court will hear tomorrow (April 5) PH’s bid to compel the RoS to register the opposition pact.
The date also marks the last day of the current Dewan Rakyat sitting.
PH lawyer Michelle Ng said High Court judge Azizah Nawawi had fixed the afternoon of April 5 for the hearing on an urgent basis.
