MCA president Liow Tiong Lai says DAP only wants to eliminate the party in Johor.
JOHOR BAHRU:
MCA plans to hold a giant rally in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency to send a clear signal that the party will go all out to defend the seat in the 14th general election (GE14), according to its president Liow Tiong Lai.

It is believed that the rally was mooted following DAP’s announcement that it’s Johor chairman Liew Chin Tong would contest in Ayer Hitam against MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong.

Liow, who made the announcement at a news conference here yesterday, said DAP’s remarks on Liew’s candidacy were aimed at eliminating MCA in Johor, not championing the people’s interests.

“DAP is only good at twisting the facts and playing with the sentiments of the people without making any contributions or serving the people,” he said at a separate event earlier.

“It is clear that we (MCA) serve, we give leadership and implement development programmes for the people, but DAP doesn’t do any work… until election time. It only wants to eliminate MCA.”
