KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has never sidelined any race or ethnic group in carrying out development programmes in the state, says Chief Minister Musa Aman.

He said this is proven by the state government’s commitment to allocate funds every year to all schools and non-Islamic places of worship.

“We remain sincere in ensuring that the needs of all Malaysians in Sabah are met and protected in a fair and equal manner,” he said at the Chinese New Year celebration organised by the Sabah Federation of Chinese Associations here tonight.

Musa, who is also finance minister, said the state government is committed to ensuring the principles of political stability, economic progress and social prosperity are upheld.

“In view of this, we will continue to work towards strengthening the positive values that exist for the benefit of the people,” he said.

“The state government is also continuously working hard to improve the quality of life of the people and to maintain harmony and stability in this state.”

Musa also called for the people to avoid anything negative that could impact on the unity and stability of the state as it could hinder the state’s aspirations to bring further progress to Sabah in an effective manner.

“The Chinese community in Sabah must provide their undivided support to the government, apart from playing a role in the development and progress of the state.

“With such support, I believe the political stability, unity, harmony and the values of acceptance that we practise in Sabah will continue to contribute to Sabah’s progress and prosperity.”
