
He said the opposition bloc had not yet nominated him.
“There was no decision made during the retreat.
“They didn’t reach any conclusion,” he said during a press conference at the PKR headquarters here today.
When asked if he would accept the nomination to become the interim prime minister, he said only if the opposition was desperate enough.
“I don’t know (about being the interim prime minister). If people are very desperate and cannot find anyone else, maybe this 99-year-old man can become a candidate.”
It was recently reported that Pakatan Harapan had decided to name Mahathir, 92, as the interim prime minister if it triumphs in GE14.
The report came after the opposition coalition’s two-day retreat in Putrajaya.
