The explanation from the DAP secretary-general was in reponse to a comment from Registrar of Societies (RoS) director-general Surayati Ibrahim, who said the party had yet to submit the results of the re-election.
“I have not received any report from the DAP,” she said during a press conference at the RoS office yesterday.
“DAP has 60 days to submit a report to the RoS and we have to await the report from Grant Thornton, as they were instructed by the RoS to conduct the re-election,” Lim said in a statement today.
Lim, who is also Penang chief minister, revealed that Subang Jaya state assemblywoman Hannah Yeoh declined from being co-opted into the CEC.
“Hannah Yeoh, who is also Selangor state assembly Speaker, was appointed into the CEC at the first meeting on Nov 12, 2017, but has since declined the CEC co-opted appointment.
“As a result, the CEC had in its next meeting on Nov 15, co-opted Penang Deputy Chief Minister II and Perai state assemblyman P Ramasamy, into the CEC as an ordinary member,” Lim said.
He added that the CEC had also reaffirmed the position of Dr Chen Man Hin as party life advisor and Anthony Loke as party public officer.

Those who are co-opted had not been among the 20 members with the highest number of votes during the recent CEC re-election.
