The body of liquor wholesaler Pubalan Retnam, 53, was found hanging by a piece of cloth from the ceiling in a bedroom in the two-storey terrace house, reported the New Straits Times.
Police said Pubalan’s wife, Jeya Pichamuthu, 46, was found dead on a bed in the living room on the ground floor. She had no injury marks on her.
Jeya was believed to be suffering from kidney ailments for a long time.
The couple’s 14-year-old son Sharveen Pubalan and nine-year-old daughter Krishaa Priteena were found lying side by side in another bedroom. They had strangulation marks on their necks.
Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Hashim Mohamad said a note was found in the house, believed to have been written by Pubalan.
“The case is now being investigated for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, as well as for sudden death,” he said, adding that there were no elements of intruders involved in the case.
