Hotel employees foil attempted robbery at Johor royal aide’s house

PETALING JAYA:
A would-be burglar was nabbed by a hotel manager and his staff when the man broke into a house next door on Friday.

The house belongs to the personal assistant of Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah.

Speaking to FMT, the manager of M-Suites Johor Bahru Hotel, Faizal Sulaiman, said the suspect was caught inside the house by him and several other hotel employees.

The hotel is located in Straits View, next to the house.

“We arrested him and handed him to the police,” said Faizal.

A video of the incident shows the suspect hanging out of a window of a house, while a house alarm blares.

A photo also shows the suspect being taken into custody by the police.

Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd confirmed the incident when contacted.

He said the suspect was a man in his mid-30s. He had a past record for a drug-related offence.
