Wan Azizah, who is also the Pakatan Harapan (PH) president, stressed that the main objective was to topple the Barisan Nasional (BN).
“If there is anything that can help us achieve that, we will give it a try,” she told FMT last night.
PAS is not part of PH, which also comprises PKR, DAP, PPBM and Amanah.
In May, PAS cut ties with PKR, ending almost two decades of cooperation with the multiracial party, after accusing the latter of breaching terms of its political cooperation.
However, PAS still remains in the PKR-led administration in Selangor.
Neither has PAS’ decision to cut political ties with the party prevented PKR leaders, including Wan Azizah and her deputy Mohamed Azmin Ali, from visiting PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang recently.
According to Wan Azizah, there was still room for discussion and this was evident, based on the fact that PKR agreed to allow its political appointees in the PAS-led Kelantan administration to remain in their posts.
“The Kelantan menteri besar himself said that they still wanted to cooperate with PKR. So we okayed it.”
