PETALING JAYA:
Umno has warned against making baseless accusations regarding the chaos that erupted at yesterday’s Nothing to Hide 2.0 forum.

The warning came following PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s tweet accusing Umno of being behind it all.

“Najib cannot hide behind shoes, chairs or flares or the threat of violence. Face the truth if there’s nothing to hide,” he tweeted.

Responding to the tweet, Umno Youth deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun said such accusations should be beyond Azmin.

“We are shocked at what happened today but YAB, I know you are a smarter man than one to just make baseless accusations. Don’t stoop so low,” Khairul tweeted, referring to Azmin by the honorific given him as Selangor menteri besar.

Khairul also said no good would come out of making accusations at this point.

“What happened today at #nothing2hide is upsetting. But we would be doing more harm than good.”

Also tweeting regarding the incident, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin condemned what happened.

“What happened at #nothing2hide must be condemned and cannot be tolerated. Hope the police apprehend those responsible.”

When asked by a Twitter user to comment on some saying Umno was behind it, Khairy said: “Let the police investigate it.”
