KUALA LUMPUR:
The Pakatan Harapan presidential council wants to formulate a manifesto specifically for the states of Sabah and Sarawak for the upcoming general election.

Its chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the coalition was focusing on the two East Malaysian states and had discussed them at length.

“We admit that it is very much necessary for the coalition to understand the problems and feelings of Sabahans and Sarawakians.

“These will be discussed in a special committee which will present a report to the presidential council, which will sit on Aug 24.

“We believe the problems with Sabah and Sarawak are very serious, and we want to hear proposals from all quarters in order to formulate a specific manifesto for Sabah and Sarawak,” he said in a press conference today.

The press conference was held following a presidential council meeting that lasted over three hours.
