GEORGE TOWN:
Police are investigating a report by a waitress that she was sexually molested by a former municipal councillor at an entertainment outlet on Beach Street last Thursday.

Northeast district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said the man and the woman, 21, would be called in to give their statements today.

“The case is being investigated under the Penal Code for assault by criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty. We will call the suspect and the woman to be questioned today,” he told reporters.

According to the woman’s police report, the man took her to the car park of the entertainment outlet where he forcefully kissed her.

The waitress claimed she refused his advances but he continued touching her, including her private parts. She claimed she then started crying, and that the man masturbated in front of her.

The waitress also claimed he asked her how much it would cost to spend a night with her. She refused to spend the night with him, and the man left soon after that, according to her report.

Police are investigating to ascertain the truth of her claims.
