KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) today confirmed that a social media posting on a “Feedback on locked houses” notice from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is an official notice from the utility company and not a ruse by robbers to enter homes.

TNB’s distribution division senior general manager (customer service) Kamaliah Abdul Kadir said the notice was issued by the Kuala Lumpur TNB metering unit as part of a normal procedure.

“It is issued when our employees cannot access the meters as the consumers’ premises are inaccessible due to locked gates or other barriers,” she said in a statement here today.

According to Kamaliah, TNB had denied the same posting when it was first made last year.

Consumers are advised not to share the online posting because it could affect the TNB employee whose name is listed on the notice.

Consumers are also urged to contact the TNB customer service at 1300885454 or the nearest TNB office if they come across any suspicious notices.
