SERIAN: Serian Hospital authorities sought the help of fire and rescue personnel to remove a harpoon head that had pierced the left foot of a boy in Kampung Koran Empaneg, near here, today.

Five personnel from the Serian Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the hospital and removed the piece of metal from the foot of Jude Dunstion Ken in a 17-minute operation at 4.41pm, said a spokesman of the fire and rescue station.

They used a bolt cutter to remove the harpoon head and handed the boy to the hospital authorities for follow-up treatment, he said in a statement.

The boy had been rushed to the hospital following the accident in his village, he added.
