“The owner of the premises where the crime took place had lodged a police report at the Bandar Kinrara police station at 4.23pm on Saturday,” Serdang police chief Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Ali said.

He said the owner had confirmed that the crime took place at his premises at around 11am on Thursday, reported The Star.

Megat Mohamad Aminuddin said the two suspects in the robbery-cum-rape case had been detained.

Closed-circuit television camera footage of the crime went viral on social media on Saturday. The footage showed two unidentified individuals entering a gambling den with the intention to rob the outlet.

However, not satisfied with just robbing the place, the suspects also took turns to rape the cashier in a hidden corner of the outlet.

Police had formed a task force to investigate the case.
