Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine took to Twitter to respond to a comment by one Hasbullah Najib saying there will be no protests against the band’s concert tonight.
“Thank you. If there is a song that offends Malaysians or their faith, please tell me. I wish to offend no one here. We cut songs for China,” Mustaine wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Hasbullah had shared a Malaysiakini report entitled “PAS Youth denies organising protest against Megadeth concert” on his Twitter account, tagging the band’s frontman.
PAS has in the past been vocal against several visiting international acts, including Selena Gomez, Metallica, Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles, Michael Learns to Rock, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, Inul Daratista, Gwen Stefani, Scorpions and Linkin Park.
In fact, the Selena Gomez concert last year was cited as one of the reasons why PAS wished to sever ties with PKR.
“It cannot be that we are breaking up over Selena Gomez,” Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, who is also PKR deputy president, said.
“I tell the truth, I don’t even know Selena Gomez all that well,” he was reported as saying, adding that he was only familiar with nasyid music.
