Penang Gerakan publicity bureau chief Ooi Zhi Yi said if a police report was lodged, a forensic check could be done to determine the identity of the culprit responsible for the pictures.
A series of pictures of a couple resembling Zairil and Dyana smooching over food and wine has been making the rounds on social media.
Zairil called the pictures “fake” while Dyana said she was saddened by the photos, which she said was the “third attack” on her.
“Zairil is a lawmaker and the other is a law graduate. They have to make sure that laws are adhered to and action is taken according to the law.
“I, therefore, urge Zairil and Dyana to lodge police reports. No matter who is the culprit, Gerakan condemns such gutter politics.
“I believe such a political culture should not be encouraged in our community,” Ooi said at a press conference here today.
If the duo did not want to lodge reports, he added, Gerakan would do it for them for the sake of getting rid of gutter politics.
However, Ooi said if the pictures were indeed of the two DAP members, they should clarify the incident once and for all to “shut off everyone”.
“Then do not drag the issue and keep on blaming the case as politically-motivated. Be a man,” said Ooi, who is also Bukit Bendera Gerakan Youth chief.
