PETALING JAYA: The patron of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) Srikandi (Women’s) wing, Anina Saadudin, has urged members to support the wing’s new chief.

In a Facebook posting today, Anina who was stripped of the post she claimed she had been appointed to, said there was no possibility she would take on that role again.

“To my supporters, if you truly love me, pledge your loyalty to the new chief. I will support and help the wing,” she wrote.

“It’s success is my success, it’s failures are my failures. And for those who hoped to see me be the Srikandi chief again, I apologise because being the ‘mother’ of the wing is already the highest respect for me.

“To carry it again is not a good thing, as I just want to see Srikandi continue to walk, run, and fly high. That would be the most wonderful accomplishment for me.”

The new line-up, although yet to be announced, has received the thumbs up from Anina, who said she was confident those appointed to various posts were more than capable to lead the wing.

She however reminded members of the wing that even capable leaders needed the support of everyone to ensure the wing was strong enough to face any challenges in the next general election.

“A leader can become great if she has the support of her followers. Place your trust in the leader’s aspirations as she will surely want to ensure the wing’s success.

“Give her constructive criticism instead of pointing your finger at her. Help her become a great leader.”

As for herself, Anina said she would continue to pursue her mission to contest against Prime Minister Najib Razak in the next general election.

Earlier today, Anina told FMT of her plan to contest against Najib in his parliament seat of Pekan.
