KUALA LUMPUR:
MRT users going cashless get discounts of up to 20% with the introduction of fares today.

The fares cost between RM1.20 and RM3.90. Students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities pay half price.

The fare on feeder buses is RM1 per trip.

Speaking to FMT, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd president and group CEO Azmi Abdul Aziz urged those riding for the first time to find out how to get Touch ‘n Go cards.

MRT users had been enjoying free rides for a month since Dec 16 on the Sungai Buloh-Kajang line, which ends at the Semantan station.

Prasarana media affairs head Azhar Ghazali urged commuters to take advantage of the park-and-ride facilities available at the Sungai Buloh, Kwasa Damansara, Kwasa Sentral, Bandar Utama and Pusat Bandar Damansara stations.

MRT operating times are from 6am to midnight on weekdays and 6am to 11.30pm on weekends.

The second phase of the MRT project, running from Semantan to Kajang and covering 19 stations, will begin operations on July 31.
