Perak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Kang Chez Chiang said the labs were uncovered during inspections on a house in Taman Silibin and a vacant factory in Sungai Pari.
“A total of 18.8kg of syabu and 50gm of ganja worth about RM1.2 million were seized from the two premises.
“Also seized were two luxury cars, jewellery and cash, with a total value amounting to RM220,000,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
He said the operation was carried out with the cooperation from Bukit Aman’s Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING).
Kang said the five foreign suspects comprised of an Indonesian woman, three Sri Lankan men and a Greek man and all suspects were believed to have been active in processing the drugs over the past two months for distribution in Perak, Selangor, Penang and Kedah.
All of them had been remanded for seven days to facilitate further investigations into the case.
“Four of them were also tested positive for drugs, while the six local suspects were also found to have previous criminal records,” he said, adding that the police were also on the look out for another suspect.
