SHAH ALAM:
Jamal Yunos today scoffed at Dr Mahathair Mohamad’s claim that he was “dirty”, stressing he did not care what the former prime minister had to say about him.

The Red Shirts movement leader also said he had no problem being called “dirty”, stating it was better than taking people’s money via illegal means.

“The people beside me say I smell nice. Maybe it’s because Tun M’s nose is filled with pus,” he told reporters outside the Selangor state secretariat building in Shah Alam after launching “Bersih 7”.

Jamal, who is also the Sungai Besar Umno division chief, was responding to Mahathir’s jibe yesterday where the latter had called him “dirty”.

Malaysia’s longest-serving PM had also said that even if Jamal showered 15 times a day, he would still smell.

Mahathir said this when ask to comment on Jamal’s plan to organise “Bersih 7”.

On a related note, Jamal revealed that his “Bersih 7” campaign will kick off this Saturday in Sekinchan, Kuala Selangor.

Jamal said the campaign, which will be held in 700 locations statewide, plans to raise awareness about seven key issues that the state government has allegedly failed to address, including the need for clean water, misappropriation of funds and cronyism.

“We will be having roadshows, giving out pamphlets and talks about the corrupt Selangor government.”

When asked about the expected turnout, Jamal said he expected all five million Selangor residents to be part of the campaign.

“Don’t ask me how, just wait and see.”

The roadshows will be going to 700 locations statewide and will end on April 1.
