Mohd Abdul, who works at Mydin supermarket said: “I parked my car and walked for about five kilometres. When I reached Jalan Kinabalu, the police did not allow me to pass through even though I was walking. The police asked me to take an alternate route.
“Today’s rallies have inconvenienced me. I will now be late for work. Even though I only start work at 9.30am, I do not know how to get to my work place.”
Another worker, Au Lim Ping, said he would abide with the police’s instructions, even though it was exhausting.
“What else can we do if the police do not allow us to use this path? We have to turn back. If we can make it on time for work then we will work, if not we will go home.”
Police have closed about 58 roads in the city since midnight to prevent entry to Dataran Merdeka.
